Back To School!

2020 has been crazy... How are you surviving?

After two months of "nothing", my kids' school has started this week, and we're all feeling the dread in the morning... We're not morning family, except my son who's now 7 yrs old. He's been an early riser since he was a baby. He wakes up early and seems like enjoying his freedom of having control of a TV remote. BUT he's having trouble going back to online school... He doesn't like any school to begin with, so it's a constant struggle. It's like a war every morning to have him sit in front of a computer. Boy, I miss school so much! probably more than my kids. lol.

Since my kids are not going back to school for a while, I thought I take their beginning of the school portrait at home to remember this crazy school year. Then I thought... why can't we take this as an opportunity to create something FUN?!

School photos are usually not that fun (although it’s very cute no matter what…), so I wanted to try something different for once and had my kids to do whatever they want for this remote-school photoshoot!

They decided what to wear, what they want to have in the photo with them... basically, I had them art directed the whole shoot. OMG that was fun!!

Here, my daughter, 9, styled herself, did her makeup, and posed. She wanted to flip her hair like this. I did not say, "oh... let's try this way" or "umm not sure if that'll look good..." Do you know how hard that is for me?! lol I'm really glad we did it.

She was so happy to have control over this photoshoot. I hope she'll look at this in the future and remember this year as a crazy but fun year...
